Early life; journey with Saints to Council Bluffs, Iowa; conversion to Mormonism; journey to Salt Lake Valley, death of mother along the way, 1850; settlement of Parowan, Utah, 1851; marriage to Zadoc Knapp Judd in 1852; difficulties with Indians; removal to Santa Clara, Utah; raising of cotton and the manufacturing of cloth; friendship with Jacob Hamblin; flood of Santa Clara settlement; removal to Kanab, Utah, 1870.

Judd, Zadok Knapp, 1828-1909

Zadok Knapp Judd was born on October 15, 1828 (or 1827) in Bastard, Canada. His family converted to Mormonism while he was a child and emigrated to the United States in 1838. He served in the Mormon Battalion, and was one of the first settlers of Santa Clara, Utah, where he served as Bishop beginning in 1856. Judd died in Kanab, Utah, on January 18, 1909.
